About
This is me. I like to write. I’ve been writing for a living since 2009. At times I’ve been a starving artist, but lately I don’t do too bad. I have a lot of projects going on at any given time, and I like to write about a variety of topics. A few things I’m doing right now (as of April 2012) include:
- Teaching part-time at Moraine Park Technical College: This semester, I’m teaching Written Communication, Business Communication, Communication Technologies, and Customer Service Essentials. I sometimes blog about what we’re doing in class.
- Writing two novels, one for an adult audience and the other for YA: I’m planning to use one of these for my masters thesis once I decide which one I want to spend an entire semester tearing apart and reworking. I haven’t yet decided if novel writing is something I’ll be able to keep up regularly once I finish my degree. I like creative writing, but my paying work always seems to take precedence.
- Website building: I do basic websites for small businesses and non-profit organizations. My focus is on SEO copy designed to drive traffic to the business’ website (as opposed to flashy website design.) I’m working on a website to promote this business and am writing an eBook on how to build your own website for those people who have the skills to do it themselves. I don’t want to ever charge anyone for something they can do for themself!
- Just accepted a contract position, writing copy for ProPRCopy, and am waiting for my first assignment to come through. So far it looks like I’ll only be teaching one course this summer, so I’m hoping this will help pay the bills until fall semester.
- Milwaukee Writers Wiki: I recently started this project to create a listing of writers in the Milwaukee area. I am active in the Milwaukee-area writing scene (I know quite a few writers through my professional writing program at Mount Mary College) and want to help promote writers in our area. I believe there’s room for all of us, and together we can find enough work to sustain all of our writing passions. If you’re a writer (book author, blogger, journalist, any kind of writer, really) in the Milwaukee area, please feel free to add yourself to the wiki to help promote your work and network with other writers.
- Misc. blogging, short story writing, etc.: Just gotta keep those creative writing juices flowing!

Hi Mandy. Glad you connected with me on my bike blog, but that’s not all I do. I’m an internet marketer with a specialty in SEO. I’m always looking for writers as I push great content writing to all my clients and they don’t all have the time to do it. Please connect with me on my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/katandmouseo and introduce yourself. Then please private message me with your contact info. I’m probably blind, but I couldn’t find it here.
